Fifty-some years is a long time to put into a capsule, but here goes: Ken began life in a small town in Oregon, Lee in a large town in Michigan. Fate and an adventuresome soul took Lee to Oregon at age 18, where she met Ken, loved and admired his own adventuresome soul, and -- well, you know the rest: one plus one doesn't always equal two. Sometimes it equals six, which was the size of our family after adding four lively kids! Do some more addition and multiplication, and - low 'n behold! - now there are seventeen, counting Ken & Lee, Mike, Jennifer, Chris, Danielle, Andy, Nanci, John, Rexx, Maxx, Kenny, Stacey, Tucker, Jim, Amy & Madalyn...and there's one more on the way!
Our pursuit of the almighty dollar, necessary if one has the need to feed, clothe and house a family, didn't often leave much time for the pursuit of our dreams to travel for many years. In time, though, the four kids left home as adults to follow their own roads, and we were left with time to spend following ours. Over the course of several years, we discovered - should we have been less surprised? - that we were at our happiest when out on the road in our RV. One thing led to another and, by 1994, we were ready to leave the home built of sticks and bricks and settle down happy & cozy in our 35' fifth wheel. Lee yearned to be able to see the world pass by over the top of the guard rails for a change, and lobbied for "one of those cute big trucks", known in trucking circles as a "COE". We bought a Volvo F-7, quit our jobs (we called it retirement, but - hey, that didn't last long!), hitched the truck to the house and hit the road. After an initial two months spent in Yellowstone 'work camping' we headed for California to arrive in time for the birth of grandkid #4, and got waylaid for a while! More time than we'd planned has lapsed, and we've retired for the second time, so it's time to get going again! Maybe retirement will 'stick' this time! We haven't been idle in the ensuing years, though. Quite the contrary! We have spent the time wisely building up the coffers and taking advantage of the resources in the Silicon Valley of California. We've both become fairly proficient with the computer and agree they're called PCs because that is exactly what they are: personal computers. We've made room in our fifth wheel for matching cabinets equipped with enough toys to keep us busy and happy. Ken is into the technical aspects of computing and has built his own to suit his needs. Lee is more interested in creative computing and is following her life long urge to put words and pictures together for enjoyment. Each of us has several interests besides travel and computing, which we share. Some will show up in these pages. Please follow our links and see what roads they lead to. Have fun and check back for more recent updates soon!
